Around The Blog

Around the Blog (this summer I will take a look at the other Buckeye Blogs)

By Adam Kiefaber

Today’s featured Ohio State blog Pfef’s Sports Blog

The Creator: Ryan Pfefferle

Only in high school, Pfefferle has created and continued to update one of the better-known OSU blogs on the Internet. Even though his site focuses on OSU sports, Pfefferle would like to receive a scholarship to attend Ohio University. Personally, I can’t argue with that since I graduated from OU in ’05.

The Content and Style:

I’m a big fan of his style, like Buckeye Lane most of the posts are long and full of the writer’s true opinion. While most blogs are designed as a forum for comments, Pfef gets all the information out there in each post. Currently, Pfef has a great piece on the Ohio State Backfield.

The Design:

The design is more advanced than most blogs. It is truly impressive that a high school kid could put this site together and have the ambition to keep it updated.

Last Comments:

Hopefully, the OSU blog community doesn’t lose Pfef when he moves onto college. It is hard enough to juggle the challenging coursework from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism and the distracting events that take place on Court, Mill and Palmer streets. Fellow Buckeye blogger Jeff Seemann of the The BBC- The Buckeye Battle Cry said, “If blogging was a professional sport, he’d be LeBron or Kobe.” I think that quote is fitting because Pfef already has the skills of a great writer. Also, in the future Pfef will have a great career in journalism and hopefully will still have the time to continue his blog.
